There is no denying this is a shame for the Mass Effect Franchise. That said, Casey has been around since the Kotor days. In any other industry in the Western world it would be like "why have you been at this company for so long?" I'd say its very feasible that he helped kick-start Mass Effect 4, then went 'wow if I stay for another trilogy thats five more years.'
The other big news is that MASS EFFECT 4 IS IN A PLAYABLE STATE!
