Um.. You measure sales for a period of 9 months.. Doesn't matter that the X1 sold MORE up front. It is STILL ahead of the X360 as right now. It can't be CALCULATED to reach anything cause people can't predict the future. No matter what is selling montly NOW that could change in 2 months. Game systems do not follow a patter of EXACT sales. The X360 started selling better 3-4 years after it came out. The reason the X1 sold MORE up front is cause the inventory was there to do so.. So why would people need to buy it the several months out if they got it the first few months.. People keep saying this "X1 sales behind x360 the last few months' but IGNORE the fact that that qantities available for the first few months of the X360 were not even 50% of what was available for the X1.
By the end of 2013 the Xbox One was at 3 million worldwide.. The X360 had sold only 1.5 million. So that was 1.5 million people who were able to get their new concolse within the first 2 months of release, and not have to wait for better inventory months from then. Also take not that by this time of July the X360 had LAUNCHED in more markets then the XOne has. Yes they are tier 2 countries.. But every country adds sales and the X1 has STILL stayed ahead with being in less countries. But even still. Bigger fact here is that when 3 million people were able to get their consoles right away because of better stock, its obvious they would likely sell less. This with being a console that is MORE MONEY and HAD COMPETITION. That is ANOTHER huge factor peopel FORGET. The X360 had ZERO next-gen compeition. The X1 had 2 consoles to sell up against that were "next-gen". SO again it manage to OUTSELL the X360 while still having to compete with the PS4 and Wii U.
Yes the PS4 is selling amazingly.. just as the WIi took off with amazing sales.. seems there will always be a "KING".. Like the PS2 was the generation before last.. But relative to ALL of these things the XOne is selling well.. Maybe not as well as Microsoft hoped... but HISTORICALLY.. it is selling WELL..

@BOLD: Then you contradict yourself, if stock for the 360 was the real impediment, then the 360 should be a lot higher than the x1. Wich means people wanted to buy the 360 but could not, while people can buy the x1 but dont want to. So its doing much worse.
And yes you are right, people canot predict the future, but seeing trends and people reaction to the product and sales, we can have a pretty good estimate of how a product will react in the future and that estimate tells us that there is nothing coming that will change the current trend and its destined to fall behind. There are huge companies that make billions in predicting the future sales of a product and most of the time they are wright.

HUh? Again.. you are making no sense.. Only so many people buy a console the 1st year of release. MOST PEOPLE are NOT early adopters. Because 3 million were able to buy their console quicker then the last generation they did.. Beause the stock was there to do so. X360 sold HALF of the X1 and continued to run behind until about March.. April-July is where sales of slowed for the X1 when they inscreased for the x360.. Has it meant the X360 has caught up?? NOPE... There is NO contradiction here.. You just aren't understanding.
Most of the huge companies that predict future sales are not "wright".. or even right most of the time. Windows Phone was predicted to outself iPhone several years back.. by now.. by several different agencies.. NOPE.. I could go on and on about all the predictions that never came to be and were released by the LEADING agencies that do that sort of thing.. but it would be futile.
