how many pixels does your TV have and why did you waste your money on a 1080p tv when you can't see the difference?

I can tell when something is 480, 720, or 1080.  my response didn't say anything about not being able to see the difference in the standard settings for television.  My response said show me someone who can say, by looking at a game on the screen, "oh that one is 900p" and then "that one is 784p", or "that one is 1080p".

People don't need to be able to recognize the specific pixel count to see a difference. That would be like saying you need to be able to count all 10k people in a crowd to notice if 3 - 4k of them leave (about the pixel difference between 900p and 1080p).

Some see a big difference, some barley anything. It's all a matter of perspective, reference and standards.
