He is astonished to find that $60 is easier to get in this day and age and hence he has more money to buy games now than before. - The level of realism in sports games; football, basketball, ice hockey, etc. leaves him astounded. Not only do they look near photo-realistic, but he can play them online with strangers (do you think all this stuff is easy and free to do OP?) - should I really go on? - etc. - downoadable classics PSN store... Virtual console - indies like no man's sky - etc. - what to speak of VR headsets (and yes, they ARE awesome - go read impressions of DK2 on REDDIT - people are raging their tits off)
And you have the audacity to say such utter nonsense. You people live in a dreamland. Gaming is better and cheaper than ever. Oh boohoo, I have to sign into the internet boohoo. |
youre absolutely right, there are a bunch of things that are great about gaming today that wasnt possible back in 1998. downloadable classics are good. cheap gems by indies are also a huge plus. but are you really going to ignore all the drawbacks too? i understand that we are on opposite sides of the coin so to speak, but could you try to leave the aggression out of it? im sorry that i dont agree with you that gaming has deteriorated since the 90s.
let me point out some things about what you just said, now please try to be open minded, i promise i will be concise. you mentioned gta V, which is a pretty good example of how the internet has affected video games. the online for that game was in complete shambles and unfinished. i just prefer that games be completed when theyre shipped and not patched and fixed later. thats just one example, and also its just a preference that i have. i prefer the games to be finished.
and all this stuff you mentioned about graphics and HD tvs, i mean.. those are great tools to play video games, but id rather have a game thats good rather than a game thats mediocre on a big tv.. again, just another preference. its funny you mention 1998 because really, the best game of all time was released that year and it didnt need internet or.. anything at all really. besides the console and a tv.
