Yep, we're done here. Somebody award this man the prize. I believe he has actually found the weirdest name. Seriously, I've never even heard of that!
*searches*
Hmm... A console exclusive to Japan. I guess that's why I never heard of it. Still, there has to be a story behind that name.
Something I came across while reading made me laugh. I think a sales-related site should appreciate this one.
| When Fujitsu lowered the price and released the Marty 2 sales started to increase, but the corporate attitude was that it was a lost cause, and so the system was dropped. This led to the creation of the Japanese "Marty's Law" : if you don't keep offering something to sell, you can't increase sales. |
Perhaps something was lost in translation but is that not a textbook example of stating the bloody obvious?
While clicking around, I also came across another console I'd never heard of, and while I don't think it beats the "Marty" in terms of "weirdness", I think it may be in the running for the worst sounding name. This time it's a console exclusive to Taiwan, called the "Super A'Can". And it was manufactured by a company called Funtech. I shit you not.
So, that's the Funtech Super A'Can. Step aside, Mega Duck! I think we have a new loser... er, winner.
ColdFire - The man with no name.
