Cable TV like plan for consoles (PS triad... PS+ PSNow and PSCable)

My concern is that it would reduce competition and give the platform holder even more control over the content.   This would then give the platorm holders too much pricing power and stifle innovation.   I had hoped no one would consider the cable companies as a model to aspire to.
