Unless you spend a fortune on a home theater and what your game for the only purpose of showing off, you shouldn't care, if a game looks good, say it, if it looks like crap, say it, hell, i still play Katamari, and is one of the uggliest games i've seen, GT's graphics absolutely blow me away in every new game, but the game is a snorefest (for me) and i wouldn't buy it..
And BTW are you serious? a 2000$ PC that just came out can outperform a 500$ console that's 18 months old? wow, who would've thought that...
Seriously, i wonder who's the no-life loser that comes up with that sort of list... |
Um btw are YOU serious.I built a $600 dollar pc in october that out performs the ps3. This is a monitor, but do you buy a tv with the ps3? I bet now I could build one for $400,and it could outperform the ps3. This is at the same price. | Dude, a GPU alone to outperform a PS3 would cost $200, you add into that a case, processor, mobo, harddrive, optical drive, and a copy of windows and you're way beyond your $400 budget. Don't forget, to make it equal you'd need Blue-tooth, media card readers, and Wire-less G, oh and you cannot forget the almight Blu-ray drive. If you can do that for $400, then sign me up. |
NO a 8400gt could outperform it , and they are only 50 dollars on newegg. A 8600gt could outperform it too at 100 dollars. Do we need the extra accessories for gaming. The cpu doesn't have to be extravagent, a Pentium Dual Core e2140($70) overclocked should work. Again we don't need blu-ray , because it doesn't affect graphics on a pc. I could get a good mobo for $100, and 2gb of ram for $40. I already have an extra windows vista license so I don't have to buy it, but If i did then that would be about $100. A case and fan for $40 dollars(Even thought they might not be good enough to make). A 40gb hard drive is only about $30 dollars. That is about $430 dollars right there if I buy a new os. Shipping will bring it to about the same price as tax.The $400 was an estimate , but I'm not too far off, you might have to spend $50 extra though. This computer would easily outperform the ps3. The point is you don't have to spend $2000 on a pc to outperform it when you could easily do it in the hundreds. |
An 8400GT? I laugh at you. An 8600GT, maybe, but running at computer monitor resolutions with a decent framerate? Not so much, and you can't say "Oh if I overclock this processor it'll be as good", not everyone wants to, and you cannot say "My PC is better than a PS3" without those accessories. And, one of the advantages of the PS3 is blu-ray, so if you want to have a PC as good, you need that too. And again, this isn't for YOU, its for anyone, not everyone has a extra Vista license, and if your going to have Vista you will have to bump up your power even more.
And no, running Vista, the PS3 would smoke that. You really need to stop acting like you know everything about computers or you would know a 8400GT would not be able to outdo the Cell and RSX.
