Why can't people just say they made a mistake instead of spouting meager attempts at pride-saving drivel that usually only makes them look more idiotic?

We've had this thread at least three times... and fkusumot stole 85% of the best video game quotes around (if he meant to include BG2 as well).
Since I don't have BG quotes (curse you fkusumot!)... I'll go with a SRW quote:
