Now $8 for 7-days is bad? Where have people been living where they did not pay attention to rental prices? What did they want, $2 for a week rental?

Don't forget you are renting the hardware to run the game on as well.
How much did it cost to rent a console per week next to the game rentals.

$8 for 7 days, don't have to pick it up, bring it back, buy or rent the hardware.
People like to compare it to Netflix, but streaming pre-compressed data of a HDD at 5 mbps isn't the same as running and live streaming a game.
