Unless there is a clear cut dramatic win for Sony during the holiday. We will have to keep speculating. Even last gen it took a long time for many to accept the 360 beat the PS3 in America. A lot longer time into last gen then the current time the PS4 and Bone have been out.
We will see threads like this far into the future for sure.
