So a few more quick hits from me.

1. Like it or not PS+ being mandatory is a very smart business move and will help drive profitability.

2. I agree with Kowen that Sony needs to continue to slim down its number of divisions

3. Sony needs to work a deal with Marvel to get Spidey in Avengers. The profit margin would be enormous with next to nothing in costs for Sony. Amazing Spider Man 2 underperformed on expectations and Amazing Spider Man 3 has been delayed. Its seriously a no brainer and would give them some much needed cash.

Yeah agree. I think the PS+ move was a good decision, business wise. And considering what they offer i think its good value.

Do you also think they need to get out of mobile? I think they've done well with the Xperia Z line-up. They just need to take it further...the android market is always looking for the next best phone, and considering that Samsung is only making minor improvements in their flagship range..i think they should keep at it. Maybe only target the high end market.

As for the Avengers deal, they definitely need to make it happen.

No I don't think they should leave Mobile at all as honestly they have made some great phones, and they obviously have a market for the product still. I just am more in the boat that they need to not invest super heavily in the division and take large financial risks with it.

At this stage in Sony's recovery process they need safe bets, and guaranteed income. The company litteraly can't afford to have anymore big losses. They simply need to streamline mobile and not take any risky ventures with it. Keep producing what is selling in their mobile line and cut everything that's underperforming.
