It seems like the PS4 could be doing Wii numbers had they addressed these issues but they probably will not anytime soon. It feels like Xbox One might be able to gain some serious ground in 2015 |
im getting tired of seeing these threads, ok so as far as firmware updates wasnt everyone bitching last gen that they did it to often? also what has MS added in thier firmware updates that Sony didnt have alread,
The First one had just stablility issues irroned out
the second one had a bunch of small improvements to apps and such and stability issues fixed
third one had improved friends list stuff, improved chat and party stuff, Twitch finally added(also something ps4 had) other improvements for stuff like audio, live tv, and smartglass
forth one had bluray 50hz, some stability fixes, a progress bar for your game saves, more dvr fuctions for tv, some friends improvements, kinect improvements
fifth one had a sound mixer option(oh great now dumb people can make thier system sound horrible by messing with thier mixer) and a way to opt into help improve speech recognition
sixth one had external storage(ps4 can replace internal drive with bigger drive) they added real name for xbox live(was in ps4 day one) added auto login(also in ps4 since day 1) add xbox live gold area in the store(psn has had a PS+ section since day 1) and some stupid tv guide crap
seventh one had one literally added nothing that sony would be able to add being they dont have the same OS with the snap feature(something i have yet to use more then once) and they added languages for kinect,
so please where are all these great updates, cause to me it seems my xbox is just catching up to the ps4 in features yea its great that MS is doing this but Sony has no reason to rush a firmware out just to add features, personally i prefer sony doesnt do what they did with the ps3 where they release a firmware just to have to realease another firmware to fix issues with the previous one. id rather them release these small firmware updates and then hit us with the 1.x0 firmware which adds features. 1.8 will probably add some new features and i wouldnt be shocked if we saw it in Sept, every 3 months is fine for a feature firmware.
