Successes:

I bought a DS and, later, a 3DS, for my then-girlfriend, now wife. She's playing through Ocarina 3D (I'm so proud) and playing lots of co-op games with me on Wii, WiiU, Xbox, and PS3. Dragon's Crown is next!

I bought the Wind Waker bundle for my sister and her husband for their wedding. It was slow going at first but now that Mario Kart is out, they play a lot more often. We play online about once a week.

Failures:

I tried getting a DS for my sister. It never stuck. I ended up playing it.

I tried, unsuccessfully, to get my best friend to buy a PS4 (I need a Destiny buddy). No luck. I've also struck out in my PS3 recommendations, despite buying him the Uncharted two-pack. Hopefully we will play Dead Space 3 soon.
