What we in the west was made to think was communism in places like Russia and China was never really communism to begin with. For a start, there would of been no repressive, probably fascistic government in place at all. No elite what so ever. Workers would of run their own workplaces and factories instead of some bureaucratic elite. Community needs would of been put first but you still find nationalism in Mao's China and the former Soviet Union. Something that shouldn't exist at all in a communist world as nation states wouldn't exist really. In theory, communism should be more free than capitalism but it depends on how its implemented. But i'm not even sure if we can expect a system to survive when its based purely on people being selfless and productive. Communism is supposed to be a global system too just like capitalism.

Anyway, i'm kind of sympathetic to it and find alot of the red witch hunts especially in 1950s America quite ridiculous. Although I need to read into the different versions of communism, although it seems just like Anarchy few people understand what communism really is.

Socialism is kind of similar to communism but is more the economic part than anything.
