| S.T.A.G.E. said: You do know that all of the updates are apart of Microsoft's strength right? Thats their bread and butter. OS and online/multimedia. Sony will always be playing catch up with them. If this is a win to you then when Sony brings out the games in their second and third year...I would love to see your face. When MS starts slipping with the new IP's it will be Sony excelling. Anyone who owns a Sony console and has owned them for a while should know the golden rule. The games are in the oven and the first two years are always the worst. After that watch the exclusives come out like wildfire. |
^This guy gets it.
MS = software company(PC > Mac)
Sony = Hardware company
Either will have serious trouble competing with the other in their non-native capability
Problem with excessive console features as a selling point I'm yet to see any features I don't already have on my laptop so it's not the selling point it seems to be. I have the same problem with "smart TV". I'd rather have a "dumb" one for less money because my laptop is already almost permanently connected to my TV and is more powerful than any console or the TV itself.
TL:DR: GGames will always be most important selling point for consoles as all other features can be replicated elsewhere.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
