I feel like saying yeah, you are probably right but only because of the strength of PS4 in the other regions. Publisher strength overall in favour of one platform over another usually has a big part to play and a message in these things.
We will see strength and resistance, perhaps a rallying due in a large part to strong software exclusives or partnerships (EA springs to mind due to previous boss allegiances). However, since Sony is bullish enough to not court EA and choose to publicly denounce their offering recently.... This could just be Sony saying to EA you chose the wrong side or you are no longer as influential a player as you think you are, or stay out of our future field of play since you offer a restricted product and we want to kill it by reducing your audience.
Lots of unanswered questions, speculation, intrigue, all of which should keep this gen interesting for at least a year or so before we see if the Xbox One in the US can recover and spread to the rest of the world. Sony do not have it won yet, the start has been tremendous for both consoles, one is just enjoying the limelight a little more right now.
I am loving it, all but the tunnel vision that is.
