The PS3 also had many selling points despite being expensive at the beginning. For a long while, it was the best (and cheapest) Blu-Ray player in the market. It's exclusive library is more diverse by a long shot. It was also good for media as proven when reports came out saying that the PS3 was the most used system for Netflix.
The X1 lacks selling points. Kinect proved to be dead weight more than a buttress to the X1. So far, its exclusives are lacking in quality. Heck, Dead Rising 3 is coming out on PC. Multiplats run better on the PS4 and we've seen how much more the PS4 versions sell.
