| ps3-sales! said: 1. Destiny requires PS+ for any of the online features (co-op, pvp matches) 2. No 3. Not really 4. It's a large online connect first person shooter. Gameplay wise it is similar (at least from what I can tell from the beta) to Halo gameplay with big floaty-ish jumps and precise shooting. IT IS NOT AN MMO. You can play however you want. You can do the campaign by yourself, with friends (online/offline), do co-op only, or play vs other players in crucible matches. During the beta I played a lot of the pvp matches and it was basically a Call of Duty-like domination mode with three different flags. The only real MMO aspects of the game is the leveling, but it's more RPG aspects rather than an MMO. You upgrade your character's skills (1 of 3 classes you can choose from) and it's actually a pretty in depth system. |
This pretty much answers your question, but in my opinion I wouldn't get the game if you aren't going to get PS Plus. The community aspect of the game is what makes it much more fun. Co-op and exploring the world with people is alot of fun and PvP isn't bad either. We were only able to play 1 of 5(?) gamemodes in the beta and it was great.
