Well I said this before and I'll say it again.

Sony had no clear strategy with the Vita. At launch it was a western centric device with no Japanese support and no middleware games to bridge the AAA titles (and some of the AAA games were bad *cough COD cough). Then it became an Indie platform without any AAA games and now its a niche Japanese centric handheld without any western exclusive games.

So aside from the high priced memory cards, Sony failed to strike a balance with the Vita. So its stuck with a stigma that there are no games that appeals to this guy or that gal.

Now Sony's messaging is to make the Vita a companion device for the PS4 instead of being a stand alone device. So unless they plan something big with the PSTV (formerly known as Vita TV) then We should expect less love from Sony in the future. :(
