I definitely agree. I do not understand the double standards that people apply to video-games compared to pretty much every other type of media. It's idiotic.
If a person does not like what a particular game has to offer, why can't they simply ignore it and move on to something else? Why should all games have to appeal to EVERYONE? We don't require that of books or films. Imagine if a new romance novel were released to the same kind of reception, with articles and blog posts demanding that it be equally appealing to guys and the gay community? We'd think it was silly. I'm a bit tired of this idea that games have to be this white-washed blob that sits squarely in the middle of everything.
