I Have to agree with the OP.

I have been seeing many stepbacks in last decade... Paid DLC, on-line paywals, lack of content, story and graphics above gameplay, D.R.M., always on-line and many other anti-consumer measures are making my interest in the industry slowly dies.

I have been playing games since the Atari and, in my opinion, Gen 3 and 4 were the golden age. Once Nintendo, Sega and arcade games started to decline I started to lose my interest on the console/arcade industry becoming a mainly PC gamer.

Nowadays, with companies like EA, Blizzard making mistake after mistake I am losing my interest on PC games too. So even if I end up buying a console or handheld I do not see myself playing more games than I played last gen.
