I hate the pathetic attempts at "realism" in video games, it's painful to watch developers fail at pretty much every aspect of realism ranging from physics to graphics. I too hate DLC as it has, in a way, inflated the cost of gaming while fragmenting what should be more seamless and cohesive experiences. Finally, I too dislike the lack of originality and that impossible to define "magic" that seems to be lacking these days. Do these things stop me from buying and playing new games? Not a chance.
