| Conegamer said: You appear to be mistaken. If you've been following what I've been saying I think the game looks and plays brilliantly, but it's not "MMO-esque" as I expected when the game launched. Also; the problems with the mission structure which I have is likely to be the same in the full game if there is only 21 missions in the main game which feels rather light. Yeah there's a lot to do outside of that and I could spend many hours running around aimlessly no doubt. And yeah there are areas which are locked off but we can only see how much they add when the full game launches ofcourse. As for the dev cost and the DLC practices, I'm not even going to get into that. But $500m is not an average budget at all and a game shouldn't release DLC at Day 1 or around Day 1; that should just be included in the game in the first place. Again, the beta was great and the game looks great. It just wasn't what I expected from what Bungie have been saying and what we've been seeing from the game; but that shouldn't make it any less fun to play. |
I am glad it just has MMO elements and is not an MMO.
Here is the thing, lets say they have 50 hours of solo content, plus multiplayer for 60 bucks, that well worth it right, so lets say they did release DLC day one(which I have not heard) what is the big deal? You are getting a ton of bang for your buck already.
I hope there is more than 21 story missions honestly, I think 30 story would be fine for day 1, with 8-10 strike missions, and at least 10 multiplayer maps. The story missions on earth got progressively longer and I would expect that to be the same throughtout. I hope most of them take at least 30 min to clear. if the lvl cap is 20 I would assume a minimum of 20 missions, and I highly doupt there is just one lvl 20 mission. I have a feeling that the entire last planet will be lvl 20 and better gear and maxing abilities will become necessary as you progress. I also think that we will see multiple missions per lvl. For instance 7 worlds, on earth you reach lvl 6 before you move on, so at that rate you would hit max lvl half way through the game before you max which would make no sense.
Basically I think people are reading WAY to much into the story mode from the beta.
1. they are not going to reveal the story in a beta. no way. The like 2 clips they should basically just gave lore and a frame of reference.
2. I highly doupt the final version will see people level as fast as they did in the Beta.
3. Also, there is no way to tell if there are more missions on old russia. To me the whole goal of the story mission in the beta was to get the warp drive so you can go to the crucible. Add a strike mission and a 2 hour window moon mission and whammy. People assume that they have already seen what they are going to see in what looks to be around 1/7th of the total game....
Whether or not we got the full version of the Old Russia story, or a barebones version of the story designed with its sole purpose to drive the beta is yet to be seen, but we will know it 6 weeks.
Bungie is WAY to confident about this game for me to think they know they are lacking on content yet are let people get such a polished beta. I mean they literally used the Beta is a demo and it worked like a charm.
