Instead of FF10/10-2, I recommend this.  Not only do you get a physical copy of the much better FF10-2, you don't have to play FF10, which in itself is its own reward.

Someone that likes 10-2 but not 10? Now that is a rarity :O

Most of the music on Final Fantasy 10 was good, but the game itself was crap.  Final Fantasy 10-2 takes the world of Final Fantasy 10 and improves upon it's flaws, while having an equally bad story that's atleast well written and has okay voice acting(although FF10 did also.)

Now first off, here's what I wrote about Final Fantasy 10 in a recent thread.  http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6531579

Final Fantasy 10-2 does have the same world map as Final Fantasy 10, but one thing about Final Fantasy 10 is that you start with an airship at the very beginning of the game.  You can go anywhere in the world map you want, or you can do quests in the game whether your main quest to progress the story or any of the available side quests.

The gameplay is what sets it apart though.  Final Fantasy 10-2 has one of the best combat systems in the series.  It has the class system of Final Fantasy 5 with a larger variety of skills and characters can now switch classes mid battle to what would benefit them.  Learning new skills is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics although it's better in FFTactics as you can save your points, while any points gained on FF10-2 go directly towards the  skill you have chosen to learn.  After learning skills, new skills open up. Btw.  You know how Kimahri is a blue mage and can't use his skills at any time.  There's a blue mage class in this game and the skills are actually useful since yeah, you don't have to have a limit break in order to use the skills.

No required class to be able to hit or damage a certain enemy except elemental damage, and with only three characters, no having to purposely slow the games pacing down by defending with characters so you can feed them exp since they rarely ever participate in battle if you play efficiently.
