Titanfall was ONLY overhyped because it was exclusive to a next gen console that its fans claim it would "save".
Destiny is super hyped, but the thing is the hype has only grown as people have gotten to PLAY it. Ya before the Beta and definitly before the Alpha I was wearing of the hype, but the Beta blew away my expectations. A huge amount of hype does not mean a letdown (it does alot) but GTA5 is a good example of meeting then exceeding hype, or a movie like the Avengers.
Here is the thing, with the hype it has it could become a phenom (think COD:4, GTA5, FFVII, and other games that delivered on the hype) "if" it delivers.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
