You're getting defensive because it's Sony, but the bolded is hilarious. So while you're asking about credit, the title of the thread implies that it's actually From Software that deserves no credit. They made lots of good games before Demon's Souls. Have went on to make a bigger IP than Demon's Souls after it came out. Been making console games for 20 years. But no no, they only just recently became a "respected studio" because Sony Japan helped in some way with developing one of their games. LOL
