No it doesnt... both games have very different lore, people just like to tie in little things here and there to try and relate both games despite that From has said a billion time that DaS is a spiritual sequel and not a Sequel, the only real realtion betwen the two games is Patches (the NPC) but thats a easter egg that From has used even in the Armored Core series, anyway if you played BOTH games you should now how vastly Different the lore is.

If you choose to kill the maiden in black, the grey fog shrouding Boletaria eventually consumes everything and civilization ends. At the start of Dark Souls you're told that the entire world is shrouded in a grey fog where only the eternal dragons lived, but there's evidence that other creatures lived there previously. The true King Allant's words during and after fighting him can be seen as foreshadowing the curse of Dark Souls. There are a lot of easter eggs between all 3 entries to the souls series hinting that they're connected.
