For Zelda it was the year 1998.

Ocarina of Time and Link's Awakening DX. Still my #1 and #2 favorites of the franchise. The year was, I think, at least the two games's cumulative sales were, also the franchise's peak sales-wise, so I guess I wasn't alone.
