| DonFerrari said: When the dev themselves say in a interview that they were aiming for parity so the enjoyment is the same across all platforms why should we expect anything different? Or do we expect the 50% gpu advantage and faster memory to go completly useless? Common sense folks. If both versions go 1080p30fps and minute differences in the graphic would you think both systems are about equal or the dev didn't care about the extra resources? Second seems more likely unless you lack math skills. |
First off. The developer was talking "GAMEPLAY" parity. Not graphical parity. Bungie wants the SAME gameplay experience on X360/PS3/X1/PS4. To take this any other way.. is NOT "common sense". It's more pushing your own agenda. Having now played the beta on ALL the platforms. PS3 is the worst graphically by a long shot and the PS4 is the best. The PS4 only slighlty beats out the X1 an that is because it was alreadying running at 1080p while the X1 beta is 900p so the PS4 just looks a little sharper, which I only could tell by switching inputs at the same scenes and really studing them HARD. These differences would not be seen in regular gameplay. This cannot be said for the PS3 version, as it is noticeably "last gen". Looks like a game from 2009. The X360 version is closer to the X1/PS4 but still no where near as sharp and graphically intense. HOWEVER, the gameplay is at parity with ALL the consoles and it feels like the same exact game for each of them.
Second. If graphical "parity" were a thing. Why can Naughty Dog only do certain things on the PS4 version of The Last Of Us when you select to LOCK FPS at 30FPS? There is no X1 version to be "downgrading" things for. Naughty Dog is oftern considered onr of the best PlayStation developers and even they have issues getting things the way they want at 1080/60FPS this early in the console generation. So.. again ... where is this "common sense" you speak of?
Everyone has taken ID@Xbox's "parity" clause which had ONLY to do with release dates and NOTHING else (graphics). There is no "parity" release clause for NON-indie developers, let alone anything to do with "parity" when in comes to gameplay, graphics, etc.
