The character does benefit from the higher quality shadows, but not nearly to the extent the environment does.

That's quite funny. The upper screen's shadows, while less detailed, actually look more realistic.

With the soft shadow setting on (which i do in both), the LQ shadows become smooth enough that they look pretty realistic. Sadly, it doesn't translate as well into motion:


The worst thing about LQ shadows is how they look from a distance though. Their lower LOD versions ain't pretty '_'
Would be nice if the soft shadow setting was more aggressive with HQ shadows though. Get the best of both world.
