It comes off like they intentionally made ugly sprites, because they aren't talented/committed enough to make good looking ones.
I think the game is too different from Pokemon. It will end up like Playstation All-Stars, where everyone just wants it to be closer to its inspiration.
If it's under $5 then I might pick it up for the Vita.
