That was kind of my point. The Wii U hasn't yet sold people on the control pad being a good innovation, yet. Mario Party 10 has a great new mechanic to it involving the game pad, by allowing a player to control bowser with his own screen. Asymmetrical gameplay like that is a good use for it that can't really be replicated on other consoles.
The camera aspect is being filled by Fatal Frame, but if they really wanted it to sell they'd push Pokemon Snap.
People seem to really underappreciate how nice the game pad is for HUD and inventory management.
Finally, the amiibo. Seriously, not having it out at the launch or launch window was the dumbest thing Nintendo has done.
