I am going to ignore that example...but still Gran Tourismo sold almost as much as the best selling Halo game. Also I dont know about Nintendo but Sony does take plenty of risks with thier IPs. evident in TLOU and critically acclaimed games like Heavy Rain and LittlebigPlanet. Really wished MS didnt play safe everytime.

Once again, you're missing the point. MS has created new IPs and some have been very successful. The OP ignores that because none were as big as Halo or Gears.

Whether or not Gran Turismo sold as much as Halo is irrelevant. If the OP is gonna mention MS hasn't made anything bigger than Halo or Gears, perhaps its worth noting Sony hasn't created a new IP bigger than GT.

Little Big Planet isn't a great example of taking a risk. That's an IP Sony has gone to many times now

Heavy Rain was a risk.

TLOU is a zombie survival game with shooting, I don't consider that a big risk. Making sequels will not be a risk either.

Maybe you should pay attention to the question asked....
