Wii U will stay in last for the race of this generation. Cemented that. Xbox One sells below the PS4 worldwide, but the console will have a good market share, especially in English speaking countries (especially UK and USA). Wii U sells poorly anywhere, inside and outside of Japan.
Wii U will have periodic boosts (like in Mario Kart and Smash 4 among others). This type of strategy will be unable to create a continuous momentum. Unfortunately.
