It's a free update for PC owners who own Trine, but Trine isn't even on Wii U or PS4, only Trine 2 is. 

Trine 2: Complete Story, that I got free with Playstation Plus, contains the first game too, so I was just assuming we'd be eligible for the free update, y'know?

Trine 2: Complete Story contained the whole first game? I don't recall that, since the Complete Story had the full second game, as well as the DLC that got released on the PC. All descriptions I'm reading of the title don't mention a single instance of including the first game with it.
