I know that Sony has said that the PS4 won't have external HDD support, but I'm confused as to why. A USB 3.0 external HDD should easily match the speed of the internal. Also, it's hard to find 2.5" HDDs over 1TB for a reasonable price, while 3-4TB external USB 3.0 HDDs can be found for relatively cheap. I'm really not sure why this isn't supported, especially considering that game installs are mandatory not, and that games are bigger than ever. I'm almost full on the 5000GB already, and would love to hook up my 3TB external to my PS4.

Does anyone know exactly why Sony isn't supporting externals? It can't possibly be a homebrew issue since both the Xbox One and the Wii U support exterals and have had no problems. I tried looking for the exact reason, but couldn't find one. Anyone know?

do you get everything that comes out. I've never had an issue with space, ever. I get rid of my games and delete the save file, once I'm done with the game. I might have between 7-10 games at once, but that's usually my max.

While I personally don't much care about external HDD support I find this argument specious and irrelevant. Adding the ability to add external HDD doesn't preclude you from continuing to manage your HDD spce the way you do now. Adding options is a great thing and if there are PS4 owners who want to use an external HDD to add to their storage options so they can avoid having to delete and redownload games I think Sony should consider adding it in the future.
