what about the classic controller?

I think it is by far the best when using the standard snes style layout, the d-pad on the classic is second to none, and the buttons are comfortably placed, the whole thing feels good. The only gripe I have is that the face buttons are perhaps a bit too far away from each other.

For analog controls, however, Xbox 360 controller is the best. The analog stick on the 360 controller is the only one that is placed in a halfway decent position. Why do Nintendo and Sony make you cramp your hand up to use the analog stick? I can understand Nintendo, I suppose since the classic is designed to play old snes games, where the d-pad works the best.

Sony, however, has no excuse. That's what you get for shoehorning analog sticks on a controller not designed for it rather than creating a new controller from scratch. The whole thing just feels stupid and I can't believe they didn't change it for the PS2 or the PS3. It's also incredibly ugly compared to the 360 controller.

The 360 controller is comfortable but the main issue I have with it is that I can never tell which face button is which without looking down at it. The classic isn't much better, and neither is the Dual Shock, that's what made the Gamecube controller so good.
