It's 'hip' to hate on something that is popular. Like when people hate the iPhone for all it's well made bullcrapness (especially in those new adverts, seriously, no one uses an iPhone as a baby monitor) but they have an Nokia E90 or something. In in gaming terms, hating CoD because of the dick's who make up the community when in reality they are just well made games.
Minecraft is good, a time sink but good if it helps kids with creativity or lets people have fun then it is certainly better for the gaming world and education in general than any Resident Evil or Final Fantasy ever will be.
