Their third party situation isn't worse than the Wii U's, their entire situation is. The Wii U doesn't get much third party support, but Nintendo has a vast library of established first party franchises to work with. The XB1 has two large first party franchises, an average racing racing sim, and a couple of new IPs. Their major holiday release is an HD remaster. Third parties were the reason for XB360's massive success. The XB1 can't rely on the third party games to push consoles to players that won't already buy it for stuff like halo or gears. It's a way worse situation because their main selling point is no longer selling, because there's a better place to get them, whereas the Wii U's main selling points are exclusive to it.

If you read what I posted it's painfully clear that no one buys an XB1 for third party games.

Notice how everyone posting just to denounce my claims has yet to offer any reason as to why someone would buy an XB1 for third party games. "It's only a little weaker ad the exclusive content for the other guy is only a little better" is not a selling point. Would you put that on the side of the XB1 box? No? Not really a selling point then.

Find me a few legit people that have zero interest in Halo, Gears, Sunset Overdrive, Forza or Project Spark, but will buy an XB1. You can't do it. No one decides to spend the same amount of money for an inferior product on purpose. If you are buying an XB1 it's solely because of its exclusives, the third party titles are the after thought.

Got a point there. You buy the console of your choice because of the games and features unique to that system. Right now, 3rd party games make up the majority of the X1 and PS4's libraries. However, they always run better on the PS4. 3rd party games aren't that strong selling points (doesn't mean that they aren't selling points, though) for the X1 because why buy the inferior versions when you can get the much better ones on the PS4? While the Wii U has poor 3rd party support, it is not a redundant system. Bayonetta 2, Xenogears Chronicles X, Smash Bros, Zelda U, Splatoon, and Hyrule Warriors. All exclusive and unique to the Wii U. Nintendo has a bunch of 1st party devs and they're obviously going to take advantage of that. You're much better off with a PS4 + a Wii U than a PS4 + a X1 because the latter combination is predominantly redundant, even if the Wii U and X1 were to be evenly priced.
