Well, the X1 had a good start and was heavily overshipped afterwards if the vgc numbers aren't completely inaccurate. So, no surprise.

You live in Germany, right?...was reading on gaf that the PS4 completely obliterates the XB1 in the sales charts over there, more than in many other territories, to the point one could think the system just doesn´t exist.

Is it true?...is there some hyperbole in that or is it that bad for the XB1 in Germany?

Well, you can look at Amazon or of course Vgchartz for some indicators.

Best selling PS4 on Amazon.de right now is at number 26, the best selling X1 is at 181. For the year 2014 we have the PS4 at 6...and 35...and 69, while the X1 doesn't even make the top 100. Also the PS4 has for several months at the beginning of the year been more expensive than the X1 on Amazon.de since Amazon had cut the price of the Xbox on their own to, I think, 450€, while the PS4 was only available through third party retailers asking for outrageous prices, even that didn't stop the PS4 from outselling the X1.

Vgchartz also shows the PS4 easily more than doubling the X1 in Germany.

Finally for some anecdotal evidence, the big electronics retailer in my city had by the middle of december over 30 X1s in stock and I swear that they still haven't sold all of those. Meanwhile the PS4 didn't become fully stock till the beginning of May.

So yeah, one could say that the situation isn't very good in Germany.

Thanks for the info. That disparity between the two systems on Amazon.de is huge.I guess the best chance MS had in Europe was the 360.. this time they had none of the advantages the 360 had over the PS3 and a Sony that didn´t shoot themselves in the foot like they did with the PS3, while doing just that themselves with all the negative press on DRM and other stuff.
