I love using my Wii U, but I do have some mixed feelings about it.
The gamepad is pretty awesome IMO, and does not feel heavy in use like some people claim - I mean any sane person would let it rest on the lap while in use. It has a good selection of great games, while the only game I'd be interested in playing on either PS4 or XB1 would be Titanfall.
Would I prefer it to be more powerful at the expense of the gamepad? I really don't know, but I guess I'm leaning towards 'yes'. If that was the case I'm pretty confident that it would receive more third party support and also sell more as well as having a longer life. Then again, just playing Nintendo games in HD feels great and (in my opinion) cutting edge visuals rarely enhance the experience, although I found the Wii's lack of HD output unacceptable.
I usually own two consoles each generation, and I'll buy a PS4 around Christmas. That thing sure isn't worth the money yet. I feel those two will complement each other quite good.
