I think that is the gen transition. Last gen we saw the rise of CoD, BF and AC while franchises like Final Fantasy lost market. We saw Fifa knock PES. This kind of transition is where new IPs can rise and steal the spotlight from the big titles from the previous gen. Watch Dogs is an example and Destiny will be other (come on, more than 1M preorders and we are still 8 weeks from launch).
