I agree 100%, exploration is the most important and defining trait of the Metroid games including the Prime games, but that doesn't stop them from being FPS games. It's not what I want to think. They are catagorically FPS games. I don't think that. That's what they are. That defenition doesn't mean that all you do is run and shoot in the first person with out adventuring. It just means that it's a first person game where the core combat is the player shooting a firearm to kill enemies.
