I don't think it was a lot of X360 fans. From my point of view PS3 and X360 was basically the same machine. Most of the games were multi and more or less the same. So when I was deciding what to buy real question for me was the exclusive games. It was basically a choice between Uncharteds and Halos/GoW. For me it was X360, but not because I'm a fan. In fact choice could very much be different.
Now this generation if I'd need to buy a nextgen machine I'd easily chose Ps4. Its cheaper has better multi and some great exclusives ahead. The only ex I'm interested on X1 now is Halo 5 (mostly not for me but for my son, he loves playing Halo).
But in fact now for me best choice is a WiiU for Nintendo exclusives and a PC for multiplatform games (I'm not playing that much recently). And portable library of 3DS satisfies me too.
