Every PS4 game doesn't need 50GB to install. But every PS4 game installs and runs off the HDD/SSD. The disc is pretty much just a distribution package and security checker. Why? Transfer speeds.
- PS4 uses SATA 2 interface. 300MB/s Max
- 5400rpm HDD 90MB/s Max (68MB/s average) or you can put in an
- SSD 300MB/s Effective. SSDs are much faster than this but limited by the SATA 2 interface. Beats using
- BD-Drive x6 27MB/s
