I don't know, the plethora of PS1, gba, DS remakes and various FF7 spin-offs would indicate otherwise.

I think after MGS4 and FF13 fail to live up to sales expectations that sequels won't be quite so graphically intensive and will come out for the Wii.

 Well remakes, but the originals aren't on every console&pc.
