So many people claim XBO can do 60m+ in their predictions, I really don't see that, and here is why

Not enough exclusives, if I want third party games I will buy them on Steam or get a PS4

For the same price as a PS4, I am gonna PS4 for better graphics and Sony Exclusives

I do see Halo 5 being a big seller but I have no interest in the Master Chief Collection as I still have my orignal Xbox with Halo 1 and 2

Also the gap is inceasing between Wii U and XBO

I don't think the XBO will bomb, I say it can do 35m+ but I don't see it doing 60m

I think you are reasonable in your expectations, I see it falling between 20 and 45 million units over the next few years.

Now about the high expectations of some, I think that some gamers get attached to certain companie's products, they're very loyal (I personally never bought two consoles from the same manufacturer when going from one generation to the next, except this time going from PS3 to PS4, until the xb1 reveal I was tempted to go xb1 as I liked a few things and the mostly better third party that I missed on the 360...  I also like Uncharted, TLoU, Wipeout and God of War VERY VERY much, it was really a toss up).

Now the weaker hardware made it easy, then all the policies around the DRM, how apps were behind the gold account pay wall and the Kinect were just icing on the cake.

To their credit MS fixed the policies and made a kinect free version of the xb1 available, but the core problem of the console is that it was designed around the inclusion of a costly piece of hardware and it needed to recoup all the R&D money spent on Kinect 2 integration, that cannot be taken out, they sacrificed the GPU and memory config to the altar of motion gaming... only a new console can fix this.
