In the population sony may have the largest, but in games nintendo has dozens of series out, and dozens they could revive. So largest in developers yes, in games no.

Even that's debatable. Just look at this list of Sony owned IP, and then rememeber that Nintendo had an extra 14 years to build up a franchise back catalog.

Nintendo is #1, imo, but Sony certainly makes a strong case for the position themselves, and the fact that they employ more developers than Nintendo and Microsoft combined sure gives them an arsenal with which to challenge Nintendo for the crown.
