From browsing gaming forums during the past few months, aside from hardcore fanboys (sony or MS) I see plenty of gamers that own more than one console.

So are you suggesting people that want JRPG to wait until 2009 when FF13 comes out? By then PS3 should be sub-$250 and as a blu-ray player I think it is a great incentive for anyone to pick it up even if they already own a 360.

May be I just have too much disposable income *shrug*

Well that's the thing... on gaming forums. The vast majority of console owners do not post on gaming forums.

I'm certainly not suggesting to people to wait til 2009 to get a console to play JRPGs. My advice, based solely on my personal tastes and to someone on a limited budget, would be to buy a PS3... Disgaea comes out in August. Or, if they'd prefer, get a 360 and get LO, but if they want FFXIII they will have to plop at least another $350+ down in a year. Or yes, they can do as you said, simply wait til 2009. Of course all of these scenarios are based on the assumption that the said person MUST have FFXIII.

Will some get a 360 in the meantime to play some great JRPGs to kill the time? Yes. Are there some great JRPGs coming to PS3 to kill the time? Yes, but they're certianly not as readily available as the 360's. But I think most will just purchase a PS3 for a future FFXIII, simply because it is FF. Is it the most logical thing to do? Maybe not, but I think it's what most, including myself, will do/have done.
