It was only because of MK8 and the "price drop" was not has efficace has a true price drop, because even if it's proposing a cheaper entry point it's not proposing a better value for your money (at least not for everyone). 

plus Microsoft will probably be proposing holiday deals like including an extra game (over those that will be included in future bundle) coupled with 50$ cut.
